SUNDAY 15th SEPTEMBER

STORM WARNING + STRAY'S LEGENDARY GUITARIST DEL BROMHAM

Award winning contemporary blues rock band Storm Warning recently headlined London's 100 Club and Blues in Britain magazine wrote a gushing review which put some of their new songs from their forthcoming album 'New Horizon's' in the Deep Purple MkII, Pink Floyd territory.

Reviewer Pete Feenstra described Storm Warning as the stars of The Great British Rock and Blues Festival and reviewed their current CD 'Take Cover' for Get Ready To Rock website:

"Storm Warning are a welcome change from the norm. They play the blues with real feel, but rock hard enough when required. Above all, they strike a balance that tests the full possibilities of a song without overstaying their welcome...... Maxwell's belligerent self penned 'Big River' provides the perfect finish to an album that flows from beginning to end. It's also a timely reminder that for all their splendid ability to refresh blues covers, Storm Warning can rock out in their own right on a song that is arguably the highlight of the album."

For the first Sunday Blues At The Tropic their will be a big sale of new blues and rock CDs and DVDs from £3 + some vinyl PLUS the latest album from LARRY MILLER should be on sale on the night. Grab a bargain at the same time as seeing Storm Warning and Del Bromham.

Music starts at 8.15 p.m. SHARP and should end latest 10.30

AND

Larry Miller's latest (double) album should be available to purchase on the night.

TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY

There are no Metropolitan line and Piccadilly line trains this weekend in West London (so along the Uxbridge - Rayners Lane section and slightly beyond) and a replacement bus service will operate. If you were planning to attend the SUNDAY show by train then I can tell you it will probably end at around 10.30 p.m. so there should be plenty of time to access the other options provided.

The Central line from Ruislip Gardens is running as normal and you can get an E7 bus to that in a few minutes from the top of Grosvenor Vale.

There ARE trains on the Friday for AC DC UK

NEWS

MANOEUVRES  (OMD SHOW)

Sadly the supporting Kraftwerk "Homage" set to open this show has had to be cancelled due to a "Diary Malfunction" from one of those who was scheduled to appear. It follows that Manoeuvres (OMD) will take to the stage at 9.30 p.m. (as normal).

GIMME ABBA 22nd NOVEMBER

This show is now technically SOLD OUT and I am now just taking a few extra bookings to allow for those that either do not turn up (annoying) or cancel at short notice (fine).

If you have booked more than one ticket for this show PLEASE make sure all those in your party can attend as those not coming WILL stop others from attending which is not fair on anyone.

LEGEND - BOB MARLEY TRIBUTE

This band return to the venue THIS SATURDAY, 14th SEPTEMBER.

This is a club show and tickets can only be purchased at the venue over the bar in advance or on the door on the night. They are £15.00.

It is my understanding that there is, as I type, decent availability.

LOOKING BACK

A FOREIGNERS JOURNEY

Sadly we were not busy and so those that came were treated to the room being set out with tables and chairs and a jolly good time seemed to be being had by all. Where everyone was I have no idea, they are a cracking band.

Anyway I WILL give them another go in the future and hope next time you will come and bring all your friends. I do sincerely thank those that did come help to make it a great night.

CHANTEL McGREGOR

I will quote from a review

"Right from the opening number ‘Take The Power’ she was playing with real passion and throughout the set the whole audience was enthused and amazed by her guitar playing.

By and large, this was the same set as the live album but with extra numbers, especially a marvellous ‘Anesthetized’ played acoustic (and promised for a live acoustic album later in the year) and a gorgeous version of ‘Rhiannon’. ‘April’ was extended and really showed the mesmerising quality she can bring to a long instrumental……

I can only say that Chantel McGregor live is one of the most enjoyable musical experiences available today."

If you were not there then you missed a treat.

You can read the full review at

 http://www.music-news.com/review/UK/13955/Live/Chantel-McGregor

As I type there are no dates in the diary for return shows from either band.

I think that is all.

See you soon.
